When seeking a professional therapist, it is important to make sure that the one you choose has a diploma in Reiki. The number of years that a Reiki therapist has been doing Reiki should be a factor in your choice as well. A therapist who is relatively new in the practice should be able to provide you with references that you can contact to see if he or she is worth working with. Your Reiki therapist should also be able to demonstrate to you his experience level and the results he has provided for previous clients. Aurora Reiki Therapist has some nice tips on this.
Your Reiki therapist must also be willing to answer any questions that you might have about Reiki as well as your particular therapy. You must feel comfortable with your therapist and it is not necessary for him or her to push any beliefs on you. Your therapist may ask you questions in regards to your personal life and ask for your honest thoughts and feelings. The therapist must listen to you carefully and try to understand what you are saying. If the session takes longer than usual, it is because the client may need some additional time to think about what he or she wants to say.
When a Reiki therapist treats a client, it does not mean that the client must take a pill or eat something. The client must sit comfortably in a chair and the sessions must be conducted very quietly. Reiki therapists must not talk at all while treating a client and must avoid using suggestive words or gestures. If a Reiki practitioner is trying to get a client to do something that they don’t want to do, then the client may not benefit from the treatment.
